Eze Obosi Celebrates 14th Obiora with Pomp and Pageantries

Eze Obosi HRM Igwe Chidubem Iweka Eze Iweka III of Obosi ukwalla Ancient Kingdom and the Chairman Anambra State traditional rulers council last week hosted the crème da la crème of Nigeria Society among them top traditional rulers, politicians, clergymen etc during the celebration of 14th Obiora/Iwaji Ceremony of Obosi community Idemili North Local Government Area Anambra State.

The colourful ceremony which was conducted inside Obosi township stardom with a mammoth crowed in attendance witnessed not less than  thirty traditional rulers among them are Oni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, Etsu of Nupe, among others while prominent politicians who also graced the occasion includes Gov Chukwuma Soludo the Anambra State Governor, Mr Peter Obi the Labour Party Presidential Candidate in 2023 and Former Governor of Anambra State, Chief George Moghalu the Labour Party Governorship candidate for Nov 8th Anambra State governorship poll as well as others.

Speaking during the occasion, Igwe Chidubem Iweka thanked God for bountiful harvest, abundant blessings and peace. 

While noting that this year 14th Obiora/Iwaji Festival was his first since assuming office as the chairman Anambra State traditional rulers council (ASTRC). He used the opportunity to extol the governor of the state Prof. Chukwuma Soludo on his good works on the area of job creation, building of infrastructures, agricultural ventures, maintenance of good security etc.

Said the monarch, our dear governor, Charlie Nwangbajor has built rural roads and is encouraging agriculture with free distribution of improved seedlings and agro allied farm additives to farmers, our joy is not only on the bountiful harvest of yams we are enjoying but also in the peaceful atmosphere we are enjoying throughout the state.

Speaking also, Amb Chimezie Obi Esq. the president general of Obosi Development Union (ODU) appreciated God for sustaining the entire citizens of the town in all their endeavours.

Explaining that the festival is like a jubilee season for every indigene of the Obosi. He noted that the festival was a time to forgive and let go of those vices and all things that draw the people back positing further that it is a period that makes and a blend like a fine wine between pomp and pageantry and a reflection of virtues of forgiveness, fraternity and filial bonding.

Speaking to newsmen who covered the epoch making occasion, immediately after the event, Nze Kenneth Ifeatu Obi thanked God and sponsors for making the event possible. Highlighting that this year 14th Obiora/Iwaji ceremony came with a renewed spirit of togetherness in the community. He enjoined the people to always remember to reflect on the value of the community and bonds that tie them together and be patriotic to the town adding that they will always remember that yam represents fruits of their labour resilience and commitment to each other.

Adding their voices also, Dr. Kene Igboebisi, CEO Igboebisi Education Foundation an Educational foundation which has being giving scholarships to indigents indigenes of the town, Nze Tochukwu Obienu, chairman Obosi youths described the celebration of Obiora/Iwaji family as a period of joy and thanked God for his blessings on the people of the community.

While describing the Igwe of Obosi, Eze Chidubem Iweka as God gift to the community, they commended him for his visionary leadership which they said has brought absolute peace to the town.
