Campo bestowed with Igbo culture ambassador award, as Enugu celebrates food festival

The world stood still for the Nigeria's celebrated show biz guru and multiple international award winning Event planner, MC, Promoter, Model, Model coach, Fashion designer and beauty consultant, Her Excellency, Princess Nwanne Campo as Enugu Foodfest bestowed her with Igbo culture ambassador award.

Campo, a former Director, Welfare of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Spain, is a Show biz guru, an all rounder in fashion and entertainment industries, humanitarian and Activist, Osodieme 1 of Awka Ancient Kingdom and a Princess of  Ukehe Ancient Kingdom in Enugu State.

 

The 3rd edition of Enugu Foodfest which was held on Saturday, 30th August 2025, at International Conference Center, ICC, Enugu, was convened by Chief Hon. Ike Ezugwu also aimed at celebrating Igbo culinary heritage, tradition, and unity, with electrifying atmosphere exuding with the rich aroma of authentic Igbo delicacies such as Abacha, Echicha, Akidi with Belekwu, Fiọ̀ Fiọ̀, Ayarayaji, Ụkwa, and countless others.

The event attracted an impressive lineup of Dignitaries and cultural icons across Nigeria in attendance was His Royal Majesty, Igwe Emma Ugwu, the  Traditional Ruler of Ibagwa Nike Ancient Kingdom in Enugu State,  who graced the festival with his royal presence as the Royal Father of The Day.

The Igwe also received a prestigious award of Grand Patron of the Enugu Foodfest. Each dish was more than food as stories, memories and symbol of the enduring cultural pride of Ndị Enugu in particular and Ndị Igbo in general.

Chief Nwanne Campo was celebrated for her contribution to the promotion and preservation of Igbo Culture and Values.

Enugu Foodfest also had the grand presence of Rt. Hon. Chijioke Edeoga, the 2023 Labour Party Governorship Candidate in Enugu State and Prof. Obiajụlụ A. Emejulu, KSS, FNAL, FNIPR, FLAN, FLiPAN, the immediate-past Executive Director, National Institute for Nigerian Languages (NINLAN) Aba as the chairman of the occasion.

The iconic Abia Twins who are the founders of EJIRIMARA MBA INITIATIVE; Nazynita Austine and Marapeace Amara Austine also brought their signature energy and flair, drawing admiration from the crowd with their hairstyle which had the shape of a Plate and the Enugu mantra 042 boldly written with cowries.

Several other Enugu State Dignitaries attended the cultural festival as a show of support for Igbo culture and heritage.

The festival which came alive with an enthralling Enugu cultural song and dance showcase, a performance that reminded the audience of the rhythm, grace, and soul of our Enugu tradition comes up again in 2026.

Speaking after the event, the Convener Chief Hon. Ike Ezugwu  expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone that contributed in making the cultural event a success.

“Enugu Food Fest was born out of the desire to showcase who we are as Ñdị Enugu and Ndi Igbo, starting with our food. Food is not just what we eat; it is our identity, our story and our pride. Yesterday, the world saw a piece of Igbo greatness on display, and I am proud to say that we made history together", he said.

The Enugu Foodfest 2025 was a cultural renaissance that needs to be supported and sustained by all lovers of Igbo Land and Igbo culture. At Enugu Foodfest, tradition met modernity, a stage where cultural enthusiasts found recognition and all participants discovered the unifying power of Igbo food, music and dance. The festival closed with an atmosphere of joy, laughter, and nostalgia. Guests left not only with satisfied appetites but also with renewed pride in Igbo heritage and anticipation for future editions of the Enugu Foodfest.

Enugu Food Fest 2025 has set a gold standard in cultural events, and with its resounding success, it is clear that the Igbo culture is alive, thriving, and destined for global recognition.

Speaking in an interview, Her Excellency, Chief Princess Mrs Nwanne Campo thanked the event organisers, including his Godfather, His Royal Majesty Obi Dr Gibson Nwosu, the Ezeuzu II of Awka Kingdom and Her Majesty, Lolo Nora Nwosu were happy and congratulated her on this well deserved award.

Chief Osodieme also expressed her gratitude to the host/ Organiser of Foodfest, Hon Chief Ike Ezugwu, His Royal Majesty Igwe Emmanuel Ugwu of Ibagwa Nike ancient Kingdom, the Chairman of the Occasion Prof Obiajulu Emejulu and  Honourable Chijoke Jonathan Edeoga.

She sends her special thanks to her entourage, Princess Mrs Chidiebere Eze-chude, the Fashion designer and CEO Uwe Ruby, Mrs Maureen Stone- Enujioke, Anambra State Chairlady of Radio Television and Theatre Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) and former Special adviser to former Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State.

Others were Professor Kate Elechi of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Hon. Princess Amoge Ngwu of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Mrs. Nkechi Chukwu- CEO. Kech Bakery and Spices, Lolo. Rose Onyeke, a teacher at command day Sec. School 82 Division Enugu, and Mr Chinonso Ugwu, a Fashion designer/                    content creator/ Dance instructor.

In a congratulatory message, the Traditional Ruler of Awka, Obi Gibson Nwosu, expressed happiness that his worthy daughter is being celebrated even at her home and prayed God to shield and empower her to enrich more lives.
