As Anambra State 2025 Governorship poll gathers momentum, some members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), Civil Society Organisation (CSOs) have joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition vowing to rescue the State and Nigeria from bad governance.
The political leaders at ADC first convergence coalition partners meeting held at Awka, Anambra State capital, agreed to unite as a force to reckon with and work for betterment of Nigeria starting with voting massively for the ADC gubernatorial candidate in Anambra State, Mr John Nwosu and his running mate, Chief Dr Ndubuisi Nwobu viewed as the best.
Speaking at the meeting, the flag bearer for Anambra State 2025 poll, Mr John Nwosu urged members to return to their wards and polling units and mobilise their friends, colleagues and families to team up with ADC for greater Anambra.
Nwosu, represented by his brother, Chief Ben-Chuks Nwosu, explained that their campaign would be grassroots based so as to form a strong force to kick-out the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) whose candidate, governor Chukwuma Soludo is "currently tired of contesting."
According to him, APGA like PDP, has stayed in power for long and as such got tired of contest having consistently won itself.
"We need a strong force to knock-out Soludo government. Let's support ADC governorship candidate and his running-mate . They are two AK-47 you will use to win. But you must stay strong. APGA is tired of contest. What happened to PDP will soon happen to it.
"You all know what they do to win election and how to overcome them. They are not contesting. They are not going to the field. But don't assume that the people you have in the village are aware and will come to join you. You must properly inform them. Tell them that ADC is good. We need the unity now," he added.
Contributing, the ADC governorship running-mate, Dr Ndubuisi Nwobu, thanked God that Nigerians have seen the reason to join force with the party and urged Anambra residents to embrace them as they positioned to offer the needed development, including security and ease of doing business Soludo's administration failed to do.
Speaking in an interview, the State Chairman of ADC, Comrade Patrick Obianyo commended the coalition for embracing the party, which according to him, have all the human and material resources needed to rescue Anambra State from maladministration and insecurity.
