Nnewi Union In USA donate 400 bags of rice, cash to less privileged persons

The Nnewi Union in Diaspora, Atlanta, Georgia, USA chapter has made the yuletide celebration merrier for the less privileged persons at home in Nigeria. 

The Union in her 2025 Christmas empowerment program which held at the four quarters of the community - Umudim, Nnewichi, Otolo and Uruagu gave out 100 bags of rice and an unspecified cash gift each. 

At Nnewichi-Nnewi, the distribution of the palliatives took place at the premises of Late Chief Sydney Okeke(Aghariaku).

Mrs Grace Okeke who anchored the distribution said that the initiative was from the good heart of members of the Union. 

She noted that Nnewi Union in Atlanta Georgia USA as part of her annual empowerment program has always been offsetting bills of patients who are not financially capable to do so.

She regretted that the hospital visitation was deliberately removed from the package in the 2025 program because certain staff of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) Nnewi were currently on an industrial action.

The industrial action therefore necessitated the increase of bags of rice for each quarter from seventy five to one hundred bags.

The excited beneficiaries became almost uncontrollable the moment members of the USA based Union including Dr Comfort Nonyelum Obiazor, Engr. Vincent Obiazor and Chief Isaac Emefo arrived the Nnewichi venue.

They burst into singing and dancing in welcoming their benefactors. Prayers were said for the group for not forgetting the poor folks at home.

At the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, Okongwu Memorial Grammar School(OMGS) venue for Umudim distribution, Mrs Egbuonu Chioma Theresa supported by Ven. George C. Uchendu supervised a hitch free process. 

Ven Uchendu led the beneficiaries in prayers and appreciation for the Union for their massive support for the less privileged persons at home.

For Otolo-Nnewi zone it took place at St. Cletus Catholic Church while Uruagu distribution also went on smoothly at St Berth Anglican Church.

One of the witnesses Chief Ojo Emmanuel in an interview with journalists commended the Union members for their good heart. He urged other Nigerians to emulate the kind gesture.
