No court has indicted me for any wrongdoing, Onuorah

The President General, Enugwu-Agidi Community, Njikoka Local Government Area (LGA), Anambra State, Hon. Amb. Chukwuebuka David Onuorah, has dismissed the claims by some opposing voices that he has legal battles around him, noting that out of 34 cases instituted against him that 6 have been quashed.

Onuorah, who stated this in an interview, explained that the cases were on terrorism, vigilante petitions “orchestrated political weapons” deployed by entrenched interests threatened by his levy-collection overhaul and push for village-chairmen elections.

"I have never been indicted in any legitimate court because the truth always prevails,” Onuorah declared, producing a certified true copy of a 2024 Federal High Court ruling dismissing a gun-running charge for lack of evidence.

Investigation also confirmed that at Nnewi, Awka, and Enugu only 28 active suits against him were remaining as of November 2025, with six struck out for want of prosecution. Sources close to the Igwe’s cabinet declined to comment on the figure, calling it “an exaggeration meant to play victim.”

Addressing the viral motorcade footage, Onuorah presented police incident reports documenting three separate assassination threats between 2022 and 2024, including a petrol-bomb attack on his family compound. The Nigeria Police Force, Zone 13, confirmed the deployment of a two-man escort “purely for protective duties.”

He also vowed to account for everything received as levy or contribution since he took over in 2021, noting that "No new levy was introduced. We only stopped the old theft."

Onuorah, who stated this in an interview, said he would be submitting himself to audit because of his transperancy and accountability lifes“I am ready for a town-hall audit of every kobo collected since 2021 let the people see the truth."

Onuorah provided receipts showing that pre-2021 shop-owner levies; officially ₦500 per stall, were diverted into private accounts controlled by unelected “collection agents.” 

This, according to him, was why his administration digitized the system, launched in March 2022, and channeled huge amounts of the money realised into verifiable projects like Street light along Obibia Enugwu-Agidi/Amawbia road, Renovation of Community Health Centre, Bursary for 42 indigent students, among others.
