Enugwu-Agidi stakeholders endorse Onuorah for second term as President General unopposed

Stakeholders from Enugwu-Agidi community in Njikoka LGA of Anambra State, on Saturday, endorsed the President General, Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union (EBU-NIGERIA), Hon. Amb. Chukwuebuka Onuorah, for second term, describing him as a leader with difference.

The stakeholders, who spoke as he flagged off another gigantic road project, urged other aspirants to wait for their turn as Ebuka has restored confidence in leadership and openned the community to the world using infrastructural projects, scholarships and others to better people lives.

Ebuka had embarked on palliative works on road and drainage system for improved lives of the citizenry amidst the devastating effects of flooding in some parts of Nigeria.

According to the Councillor representing Enugwu-Agidi Ward 1 and Speaker of the Njikoka Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Obinna Okafor, Ebuka is a “game-changer," who has equally blessed them with many projects.
“Without proper drainage, roads wash away like dreams in a storm. “Let those eyeing his seat wait; the constitution grants him two terms, and he is earned them," he stated.

Also speaking, the Councillor for Ward 2, Hon. Osita Nnamdi recalled how the road was previously a nightmare, " We begged the federal government, but they ignored us. Then our PG stepped in."

He prayed for divine protection over Onuorah, urging him to keep pushing as Ward 2 pledged unwavering support for his re-election.

Contributing, another stakeholder from Ifite village, Enugwu-Agidi, Comrade Chinedu Onwurah, exclaimed that “This man ended police intimidation and got our youths working,” as well as personally funded another 100-million-naira bridge before now.

“Ifite will give him a consensus vote,” he vowed.

In her own submission, the Chairperson of Ifite Women Wing, Mrs. Constance Okeke, promised the women’s full backing to Onuorah's re-election, while the youth leader, Comrade Jekwu Ibebuilo, known as Anaegbuachala, maintained that “It takes a special kind of leader to notice a broken bridge and fix it."

On his part, the town Union's PRO, Ozo Engr. Chiedozie Onuzulike, recalled how “Enugwu-Agidi was stuck; herdsmen attacks, robbery, stagnation. Then Ebuka Onuorah arrived, and the narrative changed."

Other dignitaries at the event were Chief Sunny Duaka, Chief Obi Nwabueze, and Obiorah Kingsley, Assistant Secretary of the Enugwu-Agidi Brothers Union.

Earlier, Ebuka while flagging off the project said, "We wanted to rebuild the bridge, but when we heard a senator planned to take it on, we didn’t sit back. We pivoted to drainage and roadworks to ensure our people can move freely. I know that this matters to you and us because I live in the community. I understand what you are passing you through and will never let you down," he had noted.

He stressed the need for a PG who lives among the people to lead them unlike in the past when people living abroad or far distance communities govern the people he knew nothing about.

Onuorah’s road palliative is one out of many other projects executed by the administration since 2022. For instance in 2022, when seven electric poles collapsed, plunging the town into darkness, his team restored power within 48 hours.

The administration has equally stopped armed robbery and other security issues previously threatening their existence by mounting CCTV cameras, trained and empowered local Vigilantes, provided a community secretariat with state-of-the-art hub, revived and equipped dilapidated girls’ secondary school lab, delivered a 2.8 km road, and rebuilt a bridge battered by runoff water.
