Anambra Guber candidate to tackle power supply challenges through renewable energy

The Governorship candidate of Young Progressive Party (YPP), Sir Paul Chukwuma has Anambra residents that his administration would tackle the power supply challenges if elected on November 8 poll.

Chukwuma, who stated this while interacting with academic community across the public and private higher institutions in Anambra State, explained that he would provide grids at each of the senatorial zones and cascade them accordingly across the 21 Council Areas for easy and stable power supply to all.

This, according to him, would help to stabilise the economy and industrialise the State because Anambra has both human and material resources and those ready to pay their power supply to boost their businesses and enjoy better lives.

"I will invest in renewable energy to ensure that Anambra residents enjoy uninterrupted power supply. Power will be evenly distributed across the three Senatorial zones and 21 Local government areas. I will not restrict development or investment in any particular zone or local government area," he stated.

Chukwuma also stressed determination of his administration to provide ease of doing business, reduce taxation, contain insecurity, as well as provide basic amenities so to make lives better for citizenry.

The YPP gubernatorial candidate also assured academic community of his administration's support in research and community services through provisions of local grants, infrastructure and healthy environment for effective teaching and learning.

The governorship hopeful also reeled out measures to tackle insecurities which included job creation, deployment of technology and allowing the local government to enjoy its full autonomy as already approved by President Bola Tinubu led Federal government and Supreme Court.

"The problem we are facing in the LG Administration is part of the problems of insecurity. To tackle insecurities, I will set the security subcommittee across the 181 communities. I will liaise with relevant security agencies. We will do security mapping to identify the key issues and how to tackle them across communities.

"Most of the houses are not properly identified by the LG. We don't have a data base of those houses. I will build a database of houses for easy identification of those houses, their owners and people living in those houses. Only those who have genuinely impacted positively on the society will have their names on our streets. 

"Our streets will not be used in honouring the rich without sources of income or reputation. Everything will be by merit. We will mount security cameras across 21 LGAs as a good measures to tackle insecurities. We will invest in technologies using CCTV and traffic lights to monitor and track security. Our local Vigilante must be reformed.

" The solution to our problem is not about building roads but infrastructure that lasts. I will not build local roads. I will allow the local government to have independent and function effectively. When the local government is functioning, they will construct local roads and do other works they supposed to do accordingly. When they work, Awka will also be decongested," he stated.
