Anambra 2025: PWDs vow to support Soludo's reelection

A group, Solution for Disability Alliance (SDA), on Tuesday, commended governor Chukwuma Soludo for his disability friendly policies which according to them, have endeared him to their hearts for the past three years.

According to the group, the governor has provided employment to hundreds of their members across sectors, ministries, parastatals and agencies, even as his developmental projects were beneficial to them.

The leader of Disability Group in Anambra State, Comrade Ugochukwu Okeke, who stated this in Awka, State capital, at a rally organised by Anambra Patriots for Soludo and others, said they would continue supporting Soludo as he continues with his good governance.

This according to Okeke, was why they are in supporting of his re-election bid on November 8 poll because he has significantly reduced insecurity in Anambra State.

'In a situation of insecurity, persons with disabilities suffer the most. That is why we are calling on him to continue because reward of every good work is more work. He is delivering on good governance across all sectors. Any government that is doing well deserves to be given opportunity to continue.

"Our members were considered during recruitment of teachers, nurses and others. On his free health policies, our members are benefitting from prenatal and postnatal, including delivery across the primary healthcare centres in the State. We are also enjoying the good road networks built by the government. So, we are happy with what he's doing. We are anticipating that he will do more for persons with disabilities when he returns.

Earlier speaking, the Coordinator SDA, Comrade Ikechukwu Ezeokafor said the group would mobilise over 1000 of their members across the 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) to vote for the governor.

"We decided to support him because of his employment, education and health policies that are of very impactful to all of us. We are also accessing the social infrastructures provided by his tenure. Our members are now living fine. We are no longer beggars. Most of us are working and earning their living," he stated.
