Soludo jittery, trying hard to divert attention from real issues - Chukwuma

The Governorship candidate of YPP for Anambra State November 8 poll, Sir Paul Chukwuma, has dismissed governor Chukwuma Soludo's claim that he was seeking popularity not to be elected as governor.

Chukwuma, in a statement by his media team, said he was in the race for real issues and would not allow deliberate distractions from Soludo to deter him from providing the needed development and security of lives and property of the citizenry.

"In truth, times like this when the ban on political campaigns are lifted  offer a rare opportunity  to showcase his administration’s work. But what has Soludo done? He has turned this crucial exercise into platforms where he ridicules and denigrates responsible, and hardworking citizens of the state as a distraction to discussing his administration's performance.

"The governor's recent shade at Sir Paul Chukwuma, a respected son of Anambra from Umueri, widely recognised as the only worthy contender to replace Soludo come March 2026, is nothing short of a calculated attempt to divert attention from real issues.

"Sir Paul Chukwuma’s profile is formidable. A first-class graduate of Philosophy from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, he later earned another first-class in Law from Baze University and capped it with an LLM distinction, from the University of Derby.  Beyond academics, Paul has established himself as an accomplished entrepreneur with thriving businesses across multiple sectors.

"Once again, Sir Paul Chukwuma, is in this race because of real governance issues and not interested in Soludo’s deliberate distractions. We reckon that Soludo can do anything to evade accountability, but, again, we are calling his attention to the real issues of insecurity which led to the death of three Anambra residents in Awka, the same evening he tried in vain to throw a shade at Paul Chukwuma.

"We wish to remind Professor Soludo that the progress of Anambra and the safety of the people are far more important than Paul Chukwuma's age or his own ego. No amount of iko onu will distract Sir Paul Chukwuma from the Anambra rescue mission he has begun for the state," he stated.

He noted that Soludo has disappointed Anambra populace who entrusted him with power in 2021 having failed to even realise his over a decade-long Dubai-Taiwan vision.
