Achebe's annual lecture gathers momentum, as NIPR visits Eze Iweka

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Anambra State  Chapter, has fruitfully initiated a fatherly consultation with the Royal Father of Obosi ancient Kingdom and Chairman of the State's Traditional Rulers' Council, His Majesty Igwe Chidubem Iweka, Eze Iweka III, on her (Chapter's) forthcoming Third Edition of Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe Annual Lecture Series, being put together by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.

A special delegation of the Chapter, led by the Chairperson, Professor Angela Nwanmuo, made a breakthrough in that direction during an advocacy  visit to the respected Monarch.

The delegation, granted a quick and very fatherly audience, interactively explained the details and implications of the crucial event, including his choice for special recognition, soliciting the Royal Father's indispensable assistance and encouragement. 

Igwe Iweka in his response, expressed satisfaction with the event and its arrangement after critical inquiries and suggestions, promising to play the role expected of him. 

He appreciated the NIPR for identifying him as worthy of its weighthy recognition, pledging to live up to the expectations.

Dr Dennis Ekemezie, a Fellow of the Institute, former Council Member and Chapter Chairman, who facilitated the royal-visit, was on hand and assisted the leader in tabling the matter very properly.

Others in the delegation include: Comrades Prof Venatus Agbanu, Uche Osunkwo, Theophilus Okoha and Ogemdi Ozoemena.

The Third Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe Annual Lecture, which is on "National Peace and Reconciliation," will come up on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the Auditorium of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, Anambra State.
