Governorahip candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP)for the November 8th governorship election in Anambra State, Sir Paul Chukwuma, has called on the electorate in Onitsha North 1 State Constituency to give their votes to the candidate of the party for the Saturday August 16, 2025 State House of Assembly by-election, Princess (Barr) Njideka Ndiwe to ensure quality and effective representation of the constituency.

Chukwuma made the call on last Saturday, August 9, during a rally held in Onitsha in Washington memorial Grammar school, awka road to sensitize  constituents on the August 16 House of Assembly by-election taking place in the area.

There is a vacuum in Onitsha North 1 State Constituency as a result the death of Hon. Justice Azuka, a former lawmaker representing the constituency, who was kidnapped on December 24, 2024, and killed on 26, 2024,Chukwuma said.

Chukwuma argued that since the late lawmaker was from Ogbeoza area of Onitsha, it becomes imperetive for another person from the same Ogbeoza area to step in and serve out whatever remains of the tenure, before the slot rotates to another area.

Chukwuma, who begged the people to immortalize the former lawmaker by allowing his sister, Princess Barr Njideka Ndiwe to replace him, assured that whatever businesses the late Justice Azuka could not finish in the House of Assembly, Princess (Barr) Njideka Ndiwe would complete them, and do much more for the constituency.

"Princess (Barr) Njideka Ndiwe has done so much for the people of Onitsha. Supporting her to represent this constituency at the state house of assembly will empower her further to continue to do more.

"After the August 16 State House of Assembly by-election in Onitsha North 1 State Constituency, where you'd elect your own sister, Princess Ndiwe, then, come November 8, you will also come out in your numbers to elect Sir Paul Chukwuma and Chief Uzuegbunam Okagbue of the YPP as your governor and deputy governor, respectively," he pleaded.

Deputy governorahip candidate of the party, Chief Uzuegbunam Okagbue, also averred that Princess Barr Njideka Ndiwe is not contesting the position with any other candidate, as she is already a household name in Onitsha, and has assisted a lot of people, and has contributed immensely in empowering many people in the constituency.

He urged the people to mobilize adequately for the party come August 16, and November 8, 2025 state assembly by-election, and for governorahip election respectively.

On his part,Anambra State chairman of the party, Moses Obi, who praised the constituency for mobilizing adequately to support Princess Ndiwe, urged members of the constituency to remain firm and resolute in their support, and to make sure that they replicate similar support to the party during the August 16, and November 8th governorship election in the state.

Earlier, candidate of the YPP for state assembly by-election, Princess (Barr) Njideka Ndiwe, thanked the constituency for a huge support they had continued to accord to her. She thanked the governorahip candidate, his deputy and the state chairman of the party, who left all their busy schedules to support her campaign.

Princess Ndiwe, who enumerated a lot of philanthropic gestures she  has offered to the people and lots of sacrifices she made for the constituency, told the people that August 16, 2025 should be a payback day when the constituency would reciprocate her kind gestures by voting her into the state house of assembly.
