Catholic priest celebrates priesthood anniversary with gorilla, masquerades, others

The Spiritual Director, Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Chibuzo Obimma, on Wednesday, celebrated 14th priesthood anniversary with masquerades including gorillas and Ohafia war dance of Abia State.

Fr Obimma, also known as Ebube Muonso, at anniversary celebration held at his adoration centre at Uke, Anambra State was seen dancing with masquerades and cultural troupes, after which he gave out bags of rice to hundreds of widows, students and vulnerable across different parts of Nigeria.

The celebration which begun with mass (service) culminating into prayers and praises, also witnessed cultural displays and dancing troupes from all over the South-East geopolitical zone, including the award-winning , Gorillas, Ifesinachi age grade (Nkwelle Ezunaka), and among others.

It was attended by distinguished personalities from all walks of life, including the Deputy governorship candidate of Young Progressive Party (YPP), Mr Uzu Okagbue, the Spiritual Leader of Okunerere Adoration Ministry, Nsukka, Rev. Fr. Professor Paul Obayi, the Ukpor born Fr. Nwokeke Nwokemodo (Fr Nwebe Joy), among others.

Obimma popularly known as Fr. Ebube Muonso equally awarded scholarships to deserving students, settled hospital bills and others to the indigents and vulnerable, describing the gestures as parts of ways of thanking God who had consistently bless and uplift him in His vineyard.

According to him, it has been a smooth drive all through the 14-year journey as a priest courtesy of God who called him which is why he would always give back to the society.

He reassured his congregants of total committment to serving God and humanity noting that both challenges he had encountered in the journey spur him to forge ahead towards living an impactful life.

Speaking in an interview, Fr. Paul Obayi described Fr. Ebube Muonso as a prophet of God, who according to him, has been used as an instrument for salvation of souls and feeding the multitude, even as he urged him not to relent.

Also speaking, Fr. Nwokeke (Fr. Nwebe Joy), commended the celebrant for steadfast and fruitful impact within 14 years as an ordained priest and urged people to pray for more God's wisdom on him to carryon the good work.

In a separate interviews, some of the beneficiaries, Mrs Rosemary Okoli and Mrs Uche Obi thanked the priest for the empowerment and asked God to enrich and strengthened him.
