Chukwuma sets to dislodge Soludo, pays N50M ANSAA campaign levy

The governorship candidate of Young Progressive Party (YPP), Sir Paul Chukwuma has set the ball rolling for the November 8, 2025 poll by paying the N50M levy imposed on political parties contestants as license to campaign across the 326 electoral wards in Anambra.

Anambra State Signage and Advertising Agency (ANSAA) had last week announced that no political party or supporters would be allowed to display campaign posters and other outdoor insignia without obtaining licence worth N50M.

Chukwuma, who is determined to dislodge his namesake, Governor Chukwuma Soludo's led administration to further bring in good governance and democracy currently lacking in the State, on Friday said he has picked the license.

He made the payment through his running mate, Hon. Uzu Okagbue accompanied to the event by other party officials, including the YPP State Secretary, Chief Joe Okonkwo; State Publicity Secretary, Prince Oforbuike Okoli; and Kakpai Timothy Nwankwo Jnr., the revered Onowu of Nawfija.

According to him, the "payment is our declaration of intent; bold, structured, and uncompromising. It speaks to our integrity, our commitment to due process, and our disciplined approach to governance. In an era where political engagement is often reduced to noise and improvisation, YPP brings a refreshing difference: a campaign anchored on vision, substance, and service."

Continuing, he said "This was no ordinary visit. It was a deliberate and symbolic act; the payment of the ₦50,000,000 (fifty million Naira) mandatory campaign levy imposed by the Anambra State Government for political advertising and election-related publicity.

"But beyond fulfilling a state government requirement, this moment echoes something far greater: a clear and courageous signal that the Young Progressives Party (YPP) is not only ready for the contest: we are primed to lead. The next governor of Anambra State, Sir Paul Chukwuma , is not driven by mere ambition, but by a compelling urgency, to restore dignity to governance, transparency to leadership, and tangible prosperity to our people. "
