A lot of students applying for admission into foreign universities often wonder why their application was turn down. One of the reasons why your application may be turn down is “college selectivity”. However, there are many ways you can check your admission statues even before applying to know if your application will be accepted or not. Sometimes, schools and colleges evaluate applications, based on how competitive their college is and also the location of the applicant. Moderately selective colleges, which are the category most colleges fit into, have stricter standards than less selective colleges. These colleges and universities look at the following:

·         Transcript of previous studies

·      Letters of motivation/ Essays

·      Letters of Recommendations (if requested)

·      Application fees

Very Selective Colleges:

 Very selective colleges evaluate students on all above-named criteria and more. Very selective colleges scrutinize every aspect of a student's high school experience. Many applicants that apply to very selective schools are already strong academically. Factor such as your personal statement and transcript are critical.
